Brandywine & Double Skin 141

The Double Skin 141 was built at Bay Shipbuilding Company in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.  She measures 480’ long, 78’ abreast, and 36.5’ deep, and features three Caterpillar C-18, 550 horsepower prime movers, three John Deere/Marathon 150Kw generators, and a Volcanic 12 million Btu/hour cargo heating system.  She is also outfitted with a Thrust Master 500 horsepower bow thruster.  She carries 140,000 barrels of heavy-oil on the coastwise trade.

AT/B Brandywine/DS-141 was the final Great Lakes vessel to enter the Saint Lawrence Seaway before its numerous locks closed for the 2006 winter.

Designed for ocean service, the AT/B unit leads the way in Vane’s sustained fleet reconstruction program.
