Charles Burton
Built in Escatawpa, Mississippi in 1967, Vane Brothers acquired the 1800 horsepower model-bow tug Charles Burton from Sunoco in 1997. She was 195 gross tons, and measured 100’ long, 28’ abeam, and 13’ deep. The Charles Burton operated primarily in the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays, as well as the Ports of Norfolk, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York.
The Charles Burton was sold in 2009 to Winslow Marine in Falmouth, ME. In 2010, a new Charles Burton tug joined the Vane fleet.
