Charles Hughes

 

Built in 1975 by American Gulf Shipbuilding Company in
La Rose, Louisiana, the Charles Hughes measures 75’ long, 30’ abeam, and 10’ deep.  Vane acquired her in 1991 from Magnolia Marine in Vicksburg, Mississippi.  Her main engines are twin propulsion Detroit Diesels, generating 1,800 horsepower.  Her two 50 KW generators are powered by 4-71 Detroit Diesels.  Fuel capacity is approximately 30,000 gallons.  Fresh water capacity is approximately 3,100 gallons.  The Charles Hughes provides comfortable accommodations for six and is named in honor of Vane Chairman Charles F. Hughes, Jr.
