Christiana & Double Skin 143

 

Articulated tug and barge (AT/B) Christiana and Double Skin 143 were built in 2007 by the Manitowoc Marine Group, owners of both Marinette Marine Corporation in Marinette, Wisconsin and Bay Shipbuilding Company in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.  At nearly 600’ in length together, the Christiana and DS-143 comprise Vane’s second AT/B.

Completed in October 2007, tug Christiana is 215 gross tons, and measures 123’ long, 38’ abeam, and 22’ deep.  The Christiana features twin EMD 12-710-G7B engines, generating approximately 6,000 horsepower.  Her fuel capacity is 135,875 gallons and she carries a regular crew of eight.
