Elizabeth Anne
Built in 1980 in La Rose, Louisiana, the Elizabeth Anne was rebuilt and refurbished in 1990, and christened at a Grande Celebration on Easter Sunday at Vane’s Baltimore headquarters. Vane’s first tugboat, she is named in honor of company Vice President Elizabeth Anne Hughes.
The Elizabeth Anne is seen here pushing a double-hull tank barge carrying 15,000 barrels of No. 6 oil, en route from Virginia to Plymouth, North Carolina. The 60-foot long, 800 horsepower vessel, powered by Detroit Diesel twin engines, makes frequent passages to Salisbury, Maryland and Seaford, Delaware.
