Schuylkill
The tug Schuylkill was built at Main Iron Works in Bayou Blue, Louisiana in 1981, and measures 72’ long, 28’ abeam, and 9’ deep. Vane purchased her in 1999 from Maritrans, Inc. She is a traditional, model-bow tug featuring twin Cummins KTA 38 twin diesel engines, generating approximately 1800 horsepower. Weighing 89 gross tons, the Schuylkill operates primarily in the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays, as well as the Ports of Norfolk, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.
