P.W. Wilkinson
When the City of Baltimore retired the fireboat P.W. Wilkinson in 1994, Vane purchased and refurbished her as an oil spill response boat with fire-fighting capabilities. The Wilkinson carried 2,500 feet of oil spill boom equipment; her 880-horsepower engine pumped 6,000 gallons of water per minute. Built in 1960, she was named for P.W. Wilkinson, former executive secretary of the Baltimore City Fire Department. She was the sister vessel to the August Emrich.
The P.W. Wilkinson was sold to White Oak Machinery Leasing in West Port, Massachusetts in March of 2002.
