The Nanticoke



The tug Nanticoke is the second of the Vane Class tugs that will seen along the Eastern Seaboard. Built in Houma, Louisiana, by the Thoma-Sea Boat Builders, she joined the Vane fleet in 2005. The Nanticoke is 100’ long, with a 34’ beam. Her gross tonnage is 99 tons. She is powered by two CAT3516B, 2100 BHP engines with Kort nozzles. Featuring a model bow and square stern, her fuel capacity is 89,910 gals.; potable water capacity is 8,816 gals. With accommodation for 7 crew members, the Naticoke will be dedicated to the tank barge Double Skin 57 on the coastwise trade.
