The Donna Kay

Built in 1965 at Bollinger Shipyard in Lockport, Louisiana, the Donna Kay is an inland tow boat and was specially designed with a low silhouette to pass under the bridges around Washington, DC. The tow boat, 72 feet long with a 26-foot beam is powered by twin Caterpillar 1800-horsepower diesel engines. The Donna Kay was named in honor of Donna K. Kuemmer, the company's Chief Financial Officer, who joined Vane Brothers in 1988. She is seen here underway with our bunker barge VB11 off Sewells Point Anchorage in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
