The Elizabeth Anne

Built in 1980 at La Rose, Louisiana, the Elizabeth Anne was rebuilt and refurbished by Vane Brothers in 1990. She is seen pushing a 15,000 barrel double-skin tank barge carrying No. 6 oil as she passes through Great Bridge locks in Virginia en route to Plymouth, North Carolina. The 60-foot long, 800 horsepower vessel, powered by Detroit 12V71 twin engines, makes frequent passages to Salisbury, Maryland and Seaford, Delaware. The first tugboat owned by Vane Brothers, she is named in honor of our Vice President Elizabeth Anne Hughes.
