Our Fleet

Tugboats

Vane Brothers operates one of the most advanced tug fleets in North America, with 50 model-bow tugboats, square-bow push boats, and articulated tug and barge (ATB) tugs. As our fleet continues to grow, we are committed to utilizing the most innovative and advanced equipment to meet stringent customer requirements.

Articulated Tug and Barge Units

Vane Brothers operates 8 articulated tug and barge units (ATB's) that rise more than seven stories high when floating light. The ATB tugs range up to 6,000 horsepower, and the largest of the ATB barges can carry a 140,000-barrel-equivalent load. The tugs and barges can be joined by an advanced coupling system.

Barges

Vane Brothers operates a large fleet of 80 clean oil, black oil, lube oil and asphalt barges, some with the capacity to handle up to 140,000 barrels of product. We work closely with the oil and gas industries to remain knowledgeable about the latest developments and regulations. We also track our crews and equipment to maximize efficiency and ensure the job is done safely, correctly and on time.
